FIFA World Cup
On Facebook, the final between Germany
and Argentina
was the most talked about fixture of the tournament, with 88 million people
worldwide combining for 280 million interactions. (Again, that includes posts,
likes and comments.) The U.S.
led the world in talking about the match, with 10.5 million people
participating, followed by Brazil
(10 million) and Argentina
(7 million).

Whakataukī
He aha te mea nui o te ao?
He tangata! He tangata! He tangata!
What is the most important thing in the world?
It is people! It is people! It is people!
Whakataukī - Proverbs
Māori proverbs called ‘whakataukī’, ‘whakatauākī’ or ‘pepeha’
are sayings that reflect the thoughts, values and advice of past generations.
They are usually very succinct and often use metaphor to convey key messages. A
short whakataukī will often be so accurate in capturing a thought or moment,
there will be little need for any other words to explain it further. Proverbs
are important to the revival of Māori language – they carry flair, imagery and
metaphor embodying the uniqueness of the language.

How many babies are
born 9 months from today over this event?
What will the most
popular names be?
How many babies will
be training from this day forward- to play this futebol?
How many people from
Germany
did we befriend?
How many people will
travel to Rio de Janeiro
in the near future because of this event?
This was a huge
global event and it has already made changes to the way we think. How - that
will play out in the future we have yet to see.
I cover people and
what makes them interesting with the emphasis on wide world view perception - of

2014
FIFA World Cup
Congratulations
Argentina
The game was so tight
you just have to wonder what they got for breakfast this morning. After
yesterdays performance in the playoff between Brazil
and Germany
it was not as exciting.
Whatever it was -the
90 minutes watched were so unspectacular it was almost as if the Oranje and the
Argies were given orders so strict - it throttled the game.

Congratulations Germany!

Greetings the many
We
watched in stunned silence as the Brazilians’ wept and walked off leaving their
heroes to exceed their stress threshold and move to melt down. The game is not
over until the fat lady sings!
Sorry Team Brazil!

Nota Bene:
Severe
wild weather hits New
Zealand. Rough weather brought down power
lines across Auckland
with almost 17,000 houses without power at the height of the storm. Our trees
got a bit of a trim, lots of noise through the night stuff would have been
flying if you hadn’t battened down. Other than that we are hunky dory not so
for parts of the North
Island. The NZ Transport Agency is advising people to take
extreme care on state highways and roads.
